The private school funding program of the state of Baden-Württemberg supports educational institutions recognized as substitute schools with financial grants in order to preserve the diverse and innovative educational landscape within the state. The aim is to strengthen independent sponsors in the long term, who, with their various pedagogical concepts and school types, make a significant contribution to educational diversity. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant and can be applied for at any time by all approved substitute schools, independent of fixed deadlines. This ensures maximum flexibility for educational institutions to respond precisely to challenges in training and school development.
Funding is provided for primary schools, secondary modern schools, Werkrealschulen, community schools, intermediate secondary schools, grammar schools, special education and counseling centers, vocational schools, vocational colleges, technical schools, independent Waldorf schools, evening intermediate secondary schools, evening grammar schools, as well as colleges, provided they are recognized as substitute schools under the Baden-Württemberg Private School Act. A prerequisite for the application is proof of recognition as a substitute school in accordance with legal requirements. The program is aimed at educational providers pursuing independent pedagogical profiles and thus contributing to school plurality. Through financial relief, investments in equipment, teacher training, and inclusive teaching can be implemented to sustainably secure the educational offering.
