Project Funding by the Herten Citizens' Foundation

The project funding of the Herten Citizens' Foundation is aimed at non-profit organizations, educational institutions, public authorities, private individuals, companies, and start-ups with initiatives in Herten. As a permanent grant opportunity, the foundation particularly supports initiatives and projects that promote child and youth development, both in-school and extracurricular education, as well as neighborhood and integration work. Since its founding, it has initiated, among other things, "Hof Wessels," the model project km² Education, and the neighborhood office in the district to strengthen local structures and promote democratic engagement. Contributions can be situated in the areas of social affairs, labor market integration, and further education. The funding makes an important contribution to social cohesion by enabling creative approaches to participation, language promotion, and network building.

Interested project sponsors from the Herten area benefit from a straightforward application process, which is possible year-round. A direct connection to child and youth development, educational work, or neighborhood and integration work, as well as the location of the measure in Herten, is a prerequisite. A diverse selection of thematic fields – from democratic engagement through social inclusion to vocational qualification – offers various actors the opportunity for financial support. The flexible funding period allows for the implementation of smaller pilot projects as well as long-term service structures in schools, community centers, or extracurricular learning locations.
