Description

The Media and Education Project Fund strengthens awareness of digital competencies in Hamburg and promotes media educational initiatives for young people and families. Projects that contribute to media- and digitally-literate participation by implementing targeted educational offerings and becoming visible in public perception are supported. Eligible to apply are Hamburg-based institutions and initiatives, independent providers of child and youth welfare, as well as individuals; cooperations with public and independent schools are also possible. Support is provided as a non-repayable grant for personnel costs, fees, and material expenses. For projects with a duration of up to 36 months, annual grants between €1,000 and €50,000 can be applied for, with a maximum total of €150,000 for a three-year project duration.

Submissions are accepted continuously before the project start; a complete application on the official forms is required. Decisive for the allocation of funding are compliance with the quality criteria of the guidelines, thorough documentation, and the public presentation of results. Large-scale projects should also have a structural impact and generate broad attention. Through transparent verification, impulses are provided for the further development of the media education landscape in the Hanseatic city. Providers and individuals thus have the opportunity to realize innovative approaches to media education and to build sustainable networks between schools, youth welfare institutions, and cultural initiatives.
