Description

In Salzburg, children and adolescents placed in child and youth welfare institutions or with foster parents receive needs-based psychotherapeutic support. The permanent grant funding was launched on January 1, 2014, and is aimed at private individuals who can demonstrate an objectively determined need for therapy. The funding objective is to offer young people in sensitive life situations professional support and thereby strengthen their mental health in the long term. The funded services are provided exclusively by registered psychotherapists listed in the Austrian register and ensure tailored care directly on site in Salzburg.

A prerequisite for funding is ordinary residence in the federal state of Salzburg as well as existing placement in a youth welfare institution or with foster parents. Additionally, the objective therapy need must be documented by appropriate specialist medical findings or expert opinions. As a formal proof document, a declaration of assignment by the custodial guardians is required so that the grant can be paid directly to the social insurance carrier. Applications can be submitted at any time, as the deadline has not been limited since the start of the measure. Professional inquiries are answered by the Office of the Salzburg State Government, Department of Social Affairs, Division of Child and Youth Welfare, as well as the local youth welfare offices.
