Description
The funding program "Quality Assurance Measures to Improve Animal Health and Milk Quality" is aimed at dairy farmers in Tyrol who are members of the Regional Control Association or the Tyrolean Animal Health Service. The goal is to optimize raw milk quality and increase the fertility of dairy cows through systematic pregnancy examinations and advisory samples. A subsidy of €5 is granted per advisory sample in which inhibitors, somatic cell count, and bacterial count are analyzed, and a subsidy of €4 is granted for each pregnancy examination conducted through milk performance control or as a private sample. The processing is carried out via the Rotholz Milk Testing Station, with subsidies paid directly to this institution. The funding is valid without a time limit; applications can be submitted at any time.
Interested dairy farmers must, in addition to membership, submit a signed participation agreement for animal holders, a care contract with their veterinarian, as well as a declaration of consent to QS Milk. Applications can be made informally and are granted as a non-repayable subsidy. Regular quality assurance measures help minimize inhibitor residues, specifically monitor somatic cell and bacterial counts, and detect reproductive problems at an early stage. Furthermore, the funding supports participation in advanced health programs and contributes to the sustainable improvement of animal welfare. For inquiries, the State Veterinary Directorate of the State of Tyrol is available.
