Description
The student support for multi-day school events in Vienna offers targeted funding for particularly needy participants of general compulsory schools. As a one hundred percent subsidy, it enables participation in winter sports, summer sports, or project weeks lasting at least three days. The provider of this financial aid is the City of Vienna (MA 56 – Vienna Schools), which contributes to social inclusion in the areas of children and youth, social affairs, education, as well as training and further education through this offer. Applications are submitted via the respective school and processed by the Education Directorate for Vienna to ensure prompt payment to the school account.
Eligible for funding are students with their main residence in Vienna whose financial situation justifies an application for financial support. A prerequisite is the submission of a fully completed application form along with proof of income, evidence of alimony, minimum income support notice, minimum pension or basic provision, and, if applicable, an AMS confirmation. The funding rates amount to 22 euros per day for winter sports weeks, 17 euros per day for summer sports and project weeks, and 12 euros per day for accommodation in a WIJUG home. Application deadlines depend on the event period: September 15 for first grades as well as summer sports/project weeks (September–November), October 15 for winter sports weeks, January 15 for summer sports/project weeks (March–June), and May 15 for summer sports/project weeks in the new school year (September–November). This offer ensures that all children and young people in Vienna have access to enriching educational experiences.
