Description

The funding measure of the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government, Directorate for Social Affairs and Health, Department of Social Affairs, is aimed at private individuals in Upper Austria with disabilities who lack existing health insurance coverage. It seeks to cover the costs of self-insurance and obtaining an e-card and, if necessary, also finance prescription fees and medical treatments until compulsory insurance coverage begins. As an unlimited subsidy under § 18 Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act 2008, the Social and Health Departments offer ongoing funding opportunities; applications can be submitted at any time since November 5, 2013. Support ends as soon as entitlement to needs-based minimum security exists, co-insurance becomes possible, or a compulsory insured employment is taken up.

Prerequisites for approval include a valid decision on main benefits according to § 8 para. 1 Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act, proof of the granting of a special social service according to § 17 para. 3 nos. 2, 3, or 5, as well as the fully completed application form SGD_So_E30. Eligible expenses include, in addition to health insurance contributions, the costs for the e-card, prescription fees, and medical treatments until the start of compulsory insurance. Responsibility lies with the district administrative authorities, ensuring low-threshold access. Beneficiaries benefit from transparent and timely processing in the areas of Social Affairs, Health, and Labour & Social Affairs, which ensures uninterrupted health insurance coverage. The funding is provided from the resources of the Social Department and contributes to equal opportunities in the fields of Social Affairs, Health, and Labour & Social Affairs.
