Description
Senior day care in Burgenland represents a half- to full-day care option for elderly people with functional impairments or psychological changes and serves as a link between home care and inpatient nursing facilities. The service is aimed at individuals aged 60 and over with care allowance level up to 3 (in individual cases also higher levels), who can no longer manage their daily routine alone on weekdays and for whom mobile services are insufficient, but full inpatient care is not yet necessary. In stimulating daily structures, individual needs are taken into account and professionally qualified care is ensured, for example in cases of Alzheimer’s, stroke, or gerontopsychiatric diagnoses. This strengthens social participation, reduces the burden on caregiving relatives, and promotes remaining in the familiar environment.
As a continuously available grant funding, this program is aimed at non-profit organizations, companies, and public institutions that operate or wish to establish semi-inpatient care facilities. A prerequisite is a proven care service for seniors within the specified age and care allowance framework, insufficient home care on weekdays, and the absence of an immediate need for inpatient care. Eligible providers can submit applications without a deadline and thus contribute to sustainably improving the quality of life for elderly people in need of care in Burgenland. Further information is available from the responsible regional authorities.
