Description

The special funding programs for Energy and Climate are aimed at applicants throughout Styria and support the practical implementation of the Styrian Energy Strategy 2025 as well as the Climate Protection Plan through attractive grants. Based on resolutions of the Styrian State Government, special measures in the areas of energy efficiency and renewable energies, climate protection, environmental and nature conservation, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection are financially supported. Applicants can be both natural and legal persons – ranging from private individuals and companies to non-profit organizations, public institutions, cooperatives, and foundations, as well as interest groups, associations, and start-ups. Continuous application submission enables demand-oriented project development and is only concluded upon proof of appropriate use of funds following the implementation of the measures.

Examples of funded projects include pilot initiatives for intensive use of solar thermal and photovoltaic energy, measures for building renovation and decentralized grid infrastructure, projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions or adapting to regional climate risks. Innovative storage solutions, low-emission mobility concepts, and nature-based environmental and conservation measures can also be supported. The grants contribute to strengthening regional value creation, promoting partnerships between municipalities and local stakeholders, and advancing technological innovations. Through transparent reporting audits and ongoing exchange of experiences within the Styria region, a future-proof, affordable, and resilient energy and climate transition is sustainably ensured.
