Description
The Sparkassen Foundation for the Homburg Region supports non-profit organizations and public institutions based in or primarily active in the municipality of Nümbrecht and the city of Wiehl. With an endowment of €1.1 million, it funds cultural, social, health, sports, and ecological projects as well as monument preservation and civic engagement. Among others, funding is provided for youth and elderly care, art and cultural events, environmental protection measures, barrier-free construction projects, and initiatives to strengthen social cohesion and democracy. Grants can be applied for new acquisitions, construction measures, or operational project costs. The allocation criteria are based on the tax-privileged purposes according to § 52 para. 2 of the German Fiscal Code (AO) and contribute to the sustainable development of the North Rhine-Westphalia region.
Eligible for funding are exclusively tax-privileged associations, foundations, and public bodies. In addition to non-profit status, requirements include a clearly defined project plan and the location of the project in Nümbrecht or Wiehl. The following documents are required for the application: online application form, copy of the statutes, excerpt from the register of associations, and exemption notice. Applications are accepted by March 31 and September 30 each year. The review is conducted by the board and advisory council, who make a funding decision within a few months. Interested parties thus receive a reliable source of financing for the implementation of non-profit projects in the region.
