Description
The state of Upper Austria provides grant funding in the field of sports within the framework of the Individual Funding System (IFS). Athletes receive targeted financial support as well as professional training and competition supervision at the certified Olympic Center Upper Austria located at the Linz Gugl. Since its recognition by the Austrian Olympic Committee in 2004, the facility has served as the heart of elite and competitive sports and is 100% funded by the state of Upper Austria. With clearly defined structures and guidance from experienced experts, the IFS promotes the sustainable performance improvement of Upper Austrian athletes. Private individuals who meet the formal requirements can submit a grant application at any time.
The funding is aimed at athletes of the A and B squads, whose classification complies with the guidelines of the Olympic Center and whose performances are confirmed by the respective specialist federation. An evaluation committee reviews the criteria and awards the grant. Required documents include the application to the Olympic Center Sportland Upper Austria for IFS as well as the application to the State Sports Directorate for the operation of the Olympic Center.
