The Assmann Foundation for Prevention supports committed medical students and early-career researchers nationwide who are pursuing a doctoral project in the field of prevention of cardiovascular, oncological, or neurological diseases. With an annual grant of up to €6,000, the funding makes a significant contribution to advancing innovative research ideas and strengthening medical prevention efforts. The continuously open application deadlines allow for flexible submission, enabling doctoral projects to be started or continued without time pressure.

For a successful application, proof of enrollment in human medicine (or a closely related field) at a German university as well as passing the first medical examination or the Physikum is required. Additionally, a detailed project description with a timeline is requested, accompanied by copies of certificates (Abitur, Physikum/first section of the medical examination) and a letter of recommendation from the supervising scientists. A curriculum vitae, information on previously received funding, a cost breakdown, and, if applicable, evidence of extracurricular engagement complete the application documents.
