Description
The Hans and Mathilde Loy Foundation supports electrical engineering students enrolled in Bavaria at technical universities, universities of applied sciences, or comparable higher education institutions who must forgo state study grants due to their financial situation. The foundation's goal is to relieve needy and deserving young talents through one-time or ongoing material cost subsidies as well as interest-free loans for financing PC hardware, software, technical literature, tuition fees, and similar expenses. The selection process considers not only excellent preliminary diploma grades after two semesters but also the overall impression of the applicant’s personality and recommendations from lecturers at Bavarian universities of applied sciences.
Applications are submitted exclusively through university of applied sciences instructors who propose suitable candidates based on a passed journeyman’s examination in the electrical trade, an above-average preliminary diploma certificate, and a detailed curriculum vitae. There must be no entitlement to state funding. The foundation’s board decides on the amount and duration of financial support after reviewing all documents, which can be granted as an interest-free loan for up to ten years. This clear focus provides financial security for studies and research on the one hand, while promoting academic excellence and social commitment in the field of electrical engineering on the other.
