Description

In Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg, and Vienna, a continuously available grant program supports measures for addiction and drug prevention. The goal is to strengthen counseling and care services for individuals with substance abuse, to support the professional work of prevention centers, and to establish innovative concepts for early detection and early intervention. Furthermore, drug-specific professional events, the activities of self-organized self-help groups, and health-related research projects in the field of drug use, addiction, and prevention are taken into account. The initiative thus makes an important contribution to the preservation and restoration of public health and promotes evidence-based approaches against addictive disorders.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, public institutions, and educational establishments, including facilities and associations with care services pursuant to § 15 of the Narcotic Substances Act, regional authorities as providers of counseling services, specialized centers for addiction prevention, legal entities of selective prevention offers, as well as organizers of addiction- or drug-specific professional events. Research institutions focusing on addiction- and drug-specific prevention may also submit applications. With an open deadline structure, the program offers both citizens and companies the opportunity to implement projects flexibly and according to demand. Through its thematic focus on health, research & innovation, as well as work & social affairs, sustainable structures are promoted that contribute to the long-term reduction of addictive disorders.
