Description
Transitional Housing of the Fonds Soziales Wien continuously supports the expansion and operation of transitional housing facilities in Vienna. The goal is to stabilize homeless and housing-insecure individuals as well as to specifically prepare them for independent living in their own apartment or – if this is not possible – to facilitate placement in a permanent housing solution. Within this framework, qualified professionals provide comprehensive care, psychosocial counseling, and practical life support. The program operates within the network of Vienna’s homeless assistance services and enables an individual needs assessment to sustainably strengthen self-help potential and to realize a seamless transition into a suitable housing form. Funding is provided as a monthly grant, with Fonds Soziales Wien settling accounts directly with service providers and clients paying a graduated usage fee.
Eligible for funding are private individuals, partners, and families residing in Vienna who are homeless or threatened by loss of housing and can demonstrate a need for support. Conditions for approval include income in accordance with Vienna’s minimum social security standards, cooperative participation, and willingness to pay the usage fee. To apply, the form WOHNANTR.pdf, proof of main residence, homelessness, income and asset status, as well as the general and specific funding guidelines of FSW must be submitted. Applications can be submitted at any time since 01.01.2014. After a positive professional assessment, clients and the facility enter into a care contract, which forms the basis for the disbursement of the grant. The funding makes a decisive contribution to improving individual life prospects in social and employment-related contexts.
