Description
The environmental funding for bicycle parking facilities in Graz supports companies, residential communities, private individuals, non-profit organizations, and public institutions in Styria in the establishment of environmentally friendly mobility infrastructure. The objective is to strengthen bicycle traffic, reduce car parking spaces, and improve energy efficiency in urban areas. Funding is provided for new acquisitions of bicycle racks as well as covered parking spaces and bicycle boxes, including equipment with e-bike charging stations. The funding rate is 20% of the eligible costs, up to a maximum of €5,000 per project case. Additional bonuses are granted for verified use of green electricity (one-time €50) and for the reduction of existing car parking spaces (€150 per relinquished space). Each facility must have at least ten covered or uncovered bicycle parking spaces, be permanently usable, and comply with the quality criteria of the State of Styria. The invoice date must not be older than three months at the time of application.
The application period runs from 01.01.2025 to 31.12.2026, with the earliest project start date being 01.01.2025. Submission requires a fully completed application form, verified invoices with proof of payment, photographic evidence of the completed facility, and, in the case of residential communities, a signed participant list with responsible persons. For the green electricity bonus, a valid green electricity contract must be attached; for the parking space bonus, photographic documentation of the previous and current parking situation is required. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant and contributes to climate protection, nature conservation, and sustainable infrastructure development in the state capital Graz.
