Description
The Environmental Award of the City of Graz annually honors outstanding contributions in environmental, nature, and climate protection as well as in eco-social economic practices. With a total endowment of €4,500, projects that have already been implemented or are currently being implemented are recognized for creating a tangible added value for sustainable quality of life in Graz. Schools, children’s and youth groups, private groups with at least three participants, companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions based in the city area are eligible for the award. Additionally, educational institutions and individuals with their main residence in Graz are eligible for funding. The thematic focus lies on environmental and nature conservation, climate protection, and energy efficiency. The award aims to spotlight remarkable innovations and further strengthen environmental awareness within the urban community.
Submissions are to be made informally via the online form by July 11, 2025. A prerequisite is proof of the project’s location in Graz as well as completed or ongoing project implementation. An independent jury of experts in environment, climate protection, and sustainability evaluates the submissions based on their level of innovation, contribution to quality of life in Graz, and relevance to environmental, nature, and climate protection. The endowed funding amount may be distributed among multiple winners to promote diverse, exemplary concepts. Participation in this award helps to highlight forward-looking solutions and recognize commitment to sustainable urban development.
