Description
The "World Ethos Schools" program of the World Ethos Foundation for intercultural and interreligious research, education, and encounter recognizes vocational and general education institutions nationwide and supports them both professionally and financially in developing a value-oriented school culture. Based on interreligious, democratic, and social educational approaches, teachers, students, and parents receive well-founded impulses for learning through encounters, excursions, and projects that strengthen coexistence based on shared values. The designation as a World Ethos School serves as a "seal of quality," increases the institution's visibility, and opens access to a vibrant network where experiences are exchanged and best practices further developed. Funding is ongoing and offers schools flexible entry opportunities without fixed deadlines.
To be admitted to the program, the World Ethos principles must be integrated into the school's mission statement, and regular value-based activities must be firmly anchored in everyday school life. Applying institutions commit to implementing interreligious learning and social orientation together with the school community and actively shaping their development toward a value-oriented culture. Selection is based on the quality of mission statement integration, the planning and implementation of interreligious and democratic projects, and the willingness to network and exchange experiences. This sponsorship program is aimed at all interested educational institutions in Germany that wish to strengthen their school identity through value-oriented education and benefit from professional support as well as financial assistance. Applications can be submitted at any time.
