The reintegration allowance supports ill employees in Vienna in gradually returning to their profession by compensating for income loss due to temporary part-time work. After a minimum of six consecutive weeks of sick leave, a reduction of working hours between 25% and 50% can be agreed upon with the employer. The health insurance then provides a subsidy for up to nine months equal to the reduced working hours, calculated based on the previous sickness benefit.
