Description
Grants for Therapies for People with Disabilities in Carinthia
This funding supports medically necessary and scientifically recognized therapies for individuals with permanent physical, mental, or psychological impairments, whose social participation is expected to be significantly hindered for more than six months. Eligible private individuals in Carinthia can receive funding for up to 50% of a maximum of 30 therapy units per year. The goal is the sustainable improvement of mobility, communication, and independence of those affected through qualified therapy services such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, or occupational therapy. Funding requires that statutory health insurance providers have already covered a portion of the costs and that the measure complies with the provisions of the Carinthian Equal Opportunities Act.
Requirements and Application Procedure
Funding prerequisites include meeting the definition of disability according to § 2 K-ChG, the medical necessity and scientific recognition of the therapy pursuant to § 9 lit. a K-ChG, proof of health insurance benefits, and social need. Applications can be submitted at any time to the Office of the Carinthian State Government, the municipalities, or district administrative authorities. Eligible expenses include therapy costs and fee invoices from therapists (not older than six months). Excluded are treatments primarily for age-related functional impairments, therapies in nursing homes, as well as for primarily psychological or chronic illnesses. Supporting documents include fee invoices, proof of disability, insurance benefits, and income statements of all maintenance-obligated persons living in the household. Interested parties can individually assess, based on these framework conditions, to what extent an application can contribute to improving their quality of life and participation opportunities.
