Description

From 01.01.2025, the city of Villach in Carinthia will grant a targeted subsidy for organic farm inspections, thereby sustainably strengthening organic agriculture. Private individuals, cooperatives, interest groups, and associations with an agricultural business location in Villach will receive financial support for the initial inspection as well as the annually required external verification according to the organic label guidelines of Agrarmarkt Austria Marketing GmbH. The aim of this measure is to promote high-quality, environmentally friendly production, ensure organic quality, and relieve farms of inspection costs. Through this farm-level support, a contribution is made to the further development of regional agriculture and rural development, while simultaneously improving the market opportunities for domestic organic products.

Eligible for funding are agricultural and forestry enterprises of any size that are subject to inspection according to the organic label guidelines. Only the costs for the initial inspection and the annual external inspection by approved organic control bodies are considered eligible expenses. Billing must be completed within three months after payment of the inspection costs. Applications can be submitted continuously until the allocated budget is exhausted. This subsidy is equally aimed at established organic farms and conventional farms transitioning to organic production, thereby providing a concrete incentive to implement and continuously develop the requirements of organic production.
