Funding for umbrella organizations of recognized rescue organizations

The federal government annually supports umbrella organizations of legally or administratively recognized rescue organizations in Vienna with targeted grants. Funding is exclusively provided to non-profit entities active in disaster protection, labor, and social affairs to realize investments that sustainably enhance resilience and operational capacity in crisis and disaster situations. The funds may be used for the acquisition of vehicles, equipment, or the modernization of infrastructure. This consistently provided contribution aims to secure and further develop operational readiness in extreme situations. The funding is granted indefinitely and continuously, enabling long-term planning and coordinated investment projects.

A prerequisite for approval is the conclusion of a funding agreement in accordance with § 4 para. 7 of the Rescue and Civil Protection Organizations Support Act, which governs the earmarking and the economical, efficient use of the funds. Applications can be submitted at any time, allowing for flexible project starts. Interested umbrella organizations benefit from a practice-oriented process and transparent reporting within the framework of the transparency database. The funding makes an important contribution to public safety by strengthening the effectiveness and coordination of rescue organizations in Vienna and preparing them for current challenges in civil protection.
