Description
With the grant for caregiving relatives to support care courses, a continuous subsidy of up to €200 per year and per care-dependent person is provided throughout Austria. Eligible for funding are private individuals who have a close family relationship and are entitled to care allowance. The program supports participation in professionally supervised care courses and online training in the fields of health, social affairs, as well as work & social matters. From basic knowledge on fall prevention to specialized instructions in the home environment, the offerings cover central aspects of home care. Applications can be submitted indefinitely since January 1, 2023, ensuring continuity in care provision.
The aim of this direct funding is to increase the utilization of qualified care services by close relatives, facilitate home care, and prevent physical as well as psychological overload. Prerequisites include the decision on the entitlement to care allowance as well as proof of course participation and cost coverage. Eligible expenses include course fees for in-person and online events as well as professional guidance at home. The payment is made as a direct subsidy by the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, Section IV – Group B. This funding makes a valuable contribution to strengthening caregiving competencies and sustainably relieving caregiving relatives.
