About the funder
The Alois Lauer Foundation is a non-profit private foundation based in Dillingen/Saar. Founded by the Saarland entrepreneur Alois Lauer (1901–1984), it secures its asset base in the long term and uses the proceeds to promote health, medical research, the education of gifted youth, as well as youth sports in the Saarlouis district. The foundation operates an accessible health advisory center for self-help groups and organizes training sessions and lectures on prevention and rehabilitation.

Mission & Vision
The Alois Lauer Foundation is committed to preserving the foundation’s assets in the long term and to using its proceeds specifically for the charitable purposes defined by the founder: promoting public health, supporting medical research projects in Saarland, education and talent development of young citizens, as well as promoting youth sports in Dillingen/Saar and Nalbach.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Alois-Lauer-Stiftung are aimed at the population in the Saarlouis district who benefit from preventive and rehabilitative health services and self-help groups; at scientists and research institutions in Saarland, particularly at the university hospitals in Homburg; at talented pupils and students from Dillingen/Saar and the municipality of Nalbach, who receive scholarships and project funding; as well as at youth sports clubs and secondary schools in Dillingen/Saar and Nalbach, which are subsidized for sports tournaments and equipment.
