About the funder
The Department of Spatial Planning within the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government is responsible for the sustainable planning and management of spatial development in the state of Upper Austria. It develops and oversees spatial planning instruments such as local development concepts, land use and zoning plans, conducts supra-local state planning and regional development programs, and supports municipalities with new planning, land securing, and revitalization of town centers. Through consulting, publications, and funding programs, it contributes to a balanced integration of social, economic, and ecological requirements in municipalities and regions.

Mission & Vision
Our goal is to promote sustainable, balanced spatial development in Upper Austria that harmonizes the social and economic needs of the population with the ecological and cultural functions of the area. We support municipalities and regional stakeholders with practical planning tools, advice, and funding programs to create attractive, future-proof living environments and improve location quality.
Target groups
The services of the Department of Spatial Planning are primarily aimed at municipalities and their municipal councils, local administrative offices, village and city development associations, parishes, as well as natural persons and partnerships actively involved in local and supra-local spatial planning and development processes or seeking funding and advice in the areas of land use zoning, construction, and regional development.
