About the funder

BBB Bürgschaftsbank zu Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH is a publicly oriented financial services company headquartered in Berlin. For over 65 years, it has supported small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups, freelancers, and socially oriented start-ups in Berlin and Brandenburg in obtaining loans when their own collateral is insufficient. BBB assumes default guarantees and silent partnerships—typically up to 70% (in exceptional cases 80%) of the loan amount, with a maximum of €2.0 million. As a partner of banks, savings banks, leasing companies, chambers, and associations, it creates financing opportunities and bears the risk that credit institutions are unwilling to assume alone.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises in Berlin and Brandenburg through tailored guarantees and equity capital. We build trust between companies and financial partners by assuming default risks, thereby enabling business startups, successions, growth, and stabilization projects. In doing so, we actively shape a future-oriented, inclusive, and sustainable economic location.

Target groups

The funding programs of BBB are aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, founders, solo self-employed individuals, and members of liberal professions with a registered office or project in Berlin and Brandenburg. This also includes socially oriented companies (SDG-oriented), non-profit legal forms (e.g., gGmbH, registered associations), as well as projects by refugees and non-EU nationals. Public enterprises and housing companies, as well as renovation financing, are excluded.
