About the funder
The Bürger-Stiftung Ostholstein is a non-denominational and politically independent community foundation based in Eutin. Founded in mid-2007, it serves as an umbrella foundation for regional community foundations and endowment funds of individuals, associations, and companies in the Ostholstein district. Under the guiding motto "From Ostholstein. For Ostholstein." it supports projects aimed at strengthening the common good in the areas of child and youth welfare, education and upbringing, sports, environmental and nature conservation, arts and culture, as well as monument preservation. Currently, around 377 volunteers are engaged under the foundation's umbrella; the operational work is supported by a four-member management team.

Mission & Vision
The Bürger-Stiftung Ostholstein is committed to strengthening civic engagement in Ostholstein and, together with citizens, associations, institutions, and businesses, to realizing sustainable projects. The goal is to continuously improve the quality of life, social cohesion, and future opportunities in the region through responsible support and networking of innovative ideas.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Bürger-Stiftung Ostholstein are aimed at non-profit organizations (associations, foundations, public-law entities) as well as committed citizens in the Ostholstein district who wish to implement projects in the areas of youth welfare, education, sports, environmental and nature conservation, arts and culture, monument protection, and other social fields. A prerequisite for applying is non-profit status and a project location within the Ostholstein funding area.
