The Bürgerstiftung Coesfeld is an independent nonprofit foundation under private law, founded in 2004 by 115 committed citizens with the aim of strengthening voluntary engagement and charitable work locally. The original endowment capital of €136,500 has been increased through numerous additional donations to over €1.2 million and remains permanently preserved. The interest income as well as donations enable the support of exemplary projects in Coesfeld and the surrounding area that serve the common good and sustainably shape life in the city.

The Bürgerstiftung Coesfeld mobilizes citizens, ideas, and financial resources to strengthen and complement the community in Coesfeld. Target groups
The funding programs of the Bürgerstiftung Coesfeld are aimed at initiatives, associations, and individuals in Coesfeld and the surrounding area who plan projects in the fields of education and upbringing, youth and elderly care, culture, art and monument preservation, environmental and nature conservation, local heritage, sports, public health care, international understanding, science and research, as well as welfare services. Priority is given to projects with a model and exemplary character, a sustainable approach, and volunteer involvement.
