About the funder

The Bürgerstiftung Dresden was established in 1999 as a non-profit foundation with special support from the Körber Foundation. It is headquartered in the Villa Reuter in Blasewitz, Dresden. The foundation pursues a wide range of objectives encompassing education, civic engagement, monument preservation, health prevention, youth, disaster relief, culture, social affairs, animal protection, and the environment. It funds projects through the proceeds of its endowment capital and acts as a service provider for donors with their own ideas and concepts. The Bürgerstiftung Dresden manages over 20 foundation funds and more than 20 trust foundations and handles the administration of 20 legally recognized foundations. It is advised by prominent Dresden personalities who have made significant contributions to the city’s community.
