About the funder
Dachstiftung Diakonie (DD) is a diaconal holding foundation and non-profit corporate group headquartered in Kästorf near Gifhorn, Lower Saxony. It was established in 2011 through the merger of the Stephansstift Hanover and the Diaconal Homes Kästorf and comprises around 22 companies as well as eleven supporting foundations in the fields of elderly care, integration assistance, education, qualification, refugee aid, child, youth and family support, and homelessness assistance. With over 5,000 employees, 198 trainees, and more than 400 services, it is active in Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Hamburg, and Brandenburg, providing competent advice, support, and care to people in difficult life situations.

Target groups
The funding programs are aimed at people with diverse support needs: seniors in inpatient and outpatient care facilities, people with disabilities in integration and qualification programs, children, adolescents, and families in socio-educational residential groups, special needs schools and daycare centers, as well as homeless and poverty-risk individuals in counseling and support services.
