The Deutsche Rentenversicherung Knappschaft-Bahn-See (KBS) is a legally capable public law corporation with self-administration and employer status. It unites in a unique integrated system the pension insurance with the health and long-term care insurance KNAPPSCHAFT, its own medical network of clinics and physicians, as well as additional institutions such as the Minijob Center, the employer’s insurance, the Seamen’s Fund, the supplementary pension insurance, the Federal Accessibility Office, and the rehapro specialist office. With approximately 5.6 million insured persons and more than 22,800 employees, KBS ensures social and medical security for its members.
