About the funder
The EUROPA-CENTER Uwe Heinrich Suhr Foundation was established in 1999 by Uwe Heinrich Suhr with the aim of promoting social and societal initiatives as well as science and research. As a non-profit foundation, it supports projects in the fields of education & upbringing, art & urban development, and social commitment. These include, among others, Germany scholarships for students at universities in Bremen and Hamburg, the establishment of a foundation professorship at HCU Hamburg, the support of the Mathematical Student Society "Leonhard Euler" at Humboldt University in Berlin, as well as assistance for international aid projects in Tanzania and Haiti.

Mission & Vision
"Creating a future" is the foundation's core idea: actively embracing social responsibility and providing impetus for equitable education, sustainable research, and a livable social environment. The foundation aims to empower children, young people, students, artists, scientific institutions, and social initiatives to develop their potential and thus pave the way to an innovative and solidaristic future.
Target groups
The funding is aimed at: children and adolescents in formal and informal education (e.g., Mathematical Student Society from grade 7), gifted and committed students (Germany Scholarship at the University of Bremen, Bremen University of Applied Sciences, HafenCity University Hamburg), universities, research institutions and teaching staff (Endowed Professorship for Digital Integrated Process Management/BIM), as well as non-profit initiatives and projects in the social sector (e.g., water supply in Tanzania, charity bike tour for the German Children's Cancer Foundation, school education in Haiti).
