About the funder

The Familie Schambach Foundation is a legally recognized foundation under civil law, established in 2007 by Hannelore Schambach and granted legal capacity by the Darmstadt Regional President on June 4, 2007. As a non-profit foundation, it supports science and research, youth and elderly care, as well as public health services. In accordance with the founder’s intentions, it primarily supports palliative care facilities in Frankfurt am Main and the surrounding area, as well as research institutions in the field of palliative medicine, without regional restrictions.

Mission & Vision

In the spirit of Hannelore Schambach, the Familie Schambach-Stiftung is committed to supporting palliative care facilities and scientific projects in palliative medicine. The aim is to improve the quality of life for people in their final phase of life, to promote innovative research approaches, and to enable high-quality hospice care.

Target groups

Priority is given to funding palliative care facilities in Frankfurt am Main and the surrounding area (e.g., hospices, palliative care wards, outpatient palliative services) as well as scientific institutions such as colleges and universities conducting research in the field of palliative medicine. The foundation supports both operational facilities and research projects equally to promote a holistic advancement of palliative care.
