Mission & Vision

The Köhler Foundation is committed to expanding people's understanding of themselves by supporting scientific projects that enable innovative insights in the humanities and social sciences, medicine, and psychotherapy. It promotes interdisciplinary research initiatives, supports early-career researchers, and fosters exchange between disciplines to address existing deficits in Germany and provide new impetus for the human sciences.

Target groups

The funding programs are aimed at universities, research institutions, and researchers in the Federal Republic of Germany who work in the fields of psychoanalysis, psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychological and social-psychological research, as well as humanities and cultural studies research. In particular, projects and institutions that work interdisciplinarily, support early-career researchers, and address research gaps in Germany are supported. This also includes applications for scholarships, research commissions, scientific events, and the establishment of junior professorships.
