Pfarrhausstiftung Harz

Religious organization

About the funder

The Pfarrhaus Foundation Harz was established in 2003 in Halberstadt as a church-affiliated, non-profit foundation. Its purpose is the preservation, renovation, and community-oriented use of listed parsonages in the Harz region (Saxony-Anhalt). The foundation takes over older church properties, renovates them professionally, and makes them available to church congregations as well as social and cultural user groups at favorable conditions as community rooms, apartments, or meeting centers. With locations in Berßel, Eilenstedt, Elbingerode, and Willershausen, it combines monument preservation with social commitment.

Mission & Vision

The Pfarrhaus Foundation Harz promotes the preservation of historic parsonages as cultural centers in rural communities. Through acquisition, careful restoration, and nonprofit rental, it aims to provide parents, elderly people, and church employees with spaces for encounter, cohesion, and social interaction. As a church-social foundation, it creates sustainable prospects for parsonage villages and preserves the "soul" of the places.

Target groups

The funding and usage offers are primarily aimed at elderly people, families with children, church employees, congregations, and non-profit initiatives, in order to preserve affordable community rooms, apartments, and social meeting places in listed parsonages of the Harz region.
