The Sparkassenstiftung of the Kreissparkasse Wernigerode was established on February 21, 2000, by the Kreissparkasse Wernigerode and is today a legally recognized foundation under civil law, sponsored by the Harzsparkasse. The foundation particularly supports participation in sporting events, the construction and maintenance of sports facilities, as well as equipment measures. It finances its grants from the income of the foundation capital and is exclusively dedicated to projects in the regional environment.

Mission & Vision
The Sparkassenstiftung of the Kreissparkasse Wernigerode aims to strengthen voluntary commitment as well as the cultural, sporting, and monument preservation diversity in its home region. Through financial grants for charitable projects, we seek to promote the quality of life, social cohesion, and sustainable development in Wernigerode and its surroundings.
Target groups
Only project proposals from non-profit organizations, associations, schools, or non-profit limited liability companies (gGmbHs) based in the area of the former district of Wernigerode are eligible for funding. This specifically includes the towns and municipalities of Wernigerode, Blankenburg (Harz), Ilsenburg (Harz), Nordharz, and Oberharz am Brocken.
