About the funder

The STIFTUNG Sparda-Bank Hannover was founded in 2004 by Sparda-Bank Hannover eG and has since operated as a non-profit, privately funded foundation within the bank's business area. Under the guiding principle "Help for self-help," it assumes social and societal responsibility in Bremen, Ostwestphalia-Lippe, and parts of Lower Saxony. The funds come exclusively from the prize-linked savings of Sparda-Bank customers. Each year, the foundation supports up to 200 projects with a total of around one million euros. Its broad foundation purpose enables engagement in the areas of social measures (charitable activities), education and upbringing, arts and culture, science and research, nature and environmental protection, as well as sports.

The STIFTUNG Sparda-Bank Hannover is committed to providing prompt and unbureaucratic support to individuals and nonprofit organizations within its funding area. Our aim is to promote ideas and visions that contribute to strengthening social cohesion, cultural diversity, and sustainable development. Through the principle of "help for self-help," we seek to provide long-term impetus and serve as a reliable partner for charitable institutions and associations.

Target groups

The funding programs of the STIFTUNG Sparda-Bank Hannover are exclusively aimed at non-profit corporations, associations, and other foundations within the funding area (Bremen, Ostwestphalia-Lippe, and parts of Lower Saxony). Individuals and professional actors in professional positions are not eligible for funding. A prerequisite for funding is that the projects are socially, culturally, educationally, scientifically, nature- and environmentally focused, or sports-related and benefit the general public.
