About the funder
The Wegzeichen–Lebenszeichen–Glaubenszeichen Foundation is a legally recognized ecclesiastical foundation under private law within the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart. It promotes the appreciation, protection, and preservation of small religious monuments in fields and rural areas as well as in local communities, such as wayside crosses, image pillars, and chapels. The foundation supports both local initiatives and property owners in their commitment, as well as the new erection of spiritual waymarks. Through information and public relations work, it strengthens awareness of the cultural and religious value of these small monuments within the Württemberg cultural landscape.

Mission & Vision
The foundation is committed to keeping Christian signposts alive as testimonies of our culture and highlighting their significance for faith and community. It promotes art and culture in rural areas by supporting projects aimed at preserving and redesigning small religious monuments, thereby contributing to the preservation of the Christian identity of our homeland. Its goal is to stimulate local initiatives, encourage owners, and provide financial incentives to ensure that these cultural assets are preserved for future generations.
Target groups
The funding programs are aimed at individuals, representatives of congregations and associations, as well as private and church owners of small religious monuments within the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart. Also targeted are local initiatives, youth groups, and associations committed to the restoration, documentation, or reconstruction of wayside crosses, image shrines, chapels, and other signs of faith. Eligible to apply are owners or third parties commissioned by them who submit an application before the start of the measure and provide a financing plan.
