About the funder

The Dr. Alfons Paulus University Foundation was established in 2000 by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Sauer and is a non-independent foundation under the umbrella of the Regensburg University Foundations. Its primary purpose is the awarding of scholarships to students and graduates of Chemistry at the University of Regensburg. The best graduates of the Bachelor's, Master's, and Teaching degree programs, as well as outstanding doctoral theses since 2004, are honored. The prize money is primarily intended for the acquisition of specialized chemical literature to support studies and scientific specialization. The ceremonial award presentation takes place annually during the "Day of Chemistry" by the chairman of the Association of Former Students of the University of Regensburg (ESdUR e. V.).

Mission & Vision

The Dr. Alfons Paulus University Foundation promotes excellence in chemical education at the University of Regensburg by awarding outstanding academic achievements with specialist literature prizes. The aim is to motivate students and graduates to develop their scientific potential and to strengthen research competence through targeted acquisitions of literature.

Target groups

Students and graduates of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Regensburg are supported, particularly those who have achieved outstanding final results in their Bachelor's, Master's, or teaching degree programs. Since 2004, doctoral candidates with excellent dissertation results have also been awarded a degree completion prize.
