About the funder
Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz is a public-law state foundation, established in 1986 by the Rhineland-Palatinate state government in cooperation with Südwestrundfunk (SWR). It supports outstanding young talents in the field of chamber music through scholarships, intensive rehearsal weeks, and concerts with international chamber music stars. With more than 120 concerts annually across all regions of the state, it makes a significant contribution to the dissemination of classical music in rural areas. The foundation maintains a headquarters in Mainz (main house) and an academy for chamber music in the Baroque Palace Engers in Neuwied-Engers.

Mission & Vision
Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz is dedicated to establishing top-level support in chamber music and providing young musicians with a platform for professional training and performance opportunities. The goal is to promote musical excellence, make classical chamber music accessible, and spread cultural diversity throughout the entire state.
Target groups
The funding opportunities are aimed at highly qualified students and young graduates of classical music with a focus on chamber music from Rhineland-Palatinate and beyond. Selected scholarship recipients (up to approximately 26 years old) are supported for three years to artistically develop and gain concert experience through rehearsals and performances together with renowned chamber musicians.
