Description
The 4Generation funding program strengthens and develops youth work in Lower Saxony by supporting individual and cross-cutting projects with a focus on diversity, participation, and engagement. Within this initiative, grants ranging from €1,500 up to a maximum of €10,000 per full project year are available, with average funding amounts not to exceed €850 per month. The duration can be flexibly designed between 3 and 24 months. The goal is to enable discrimination-free participation for all young people, encourage voluntary engagement, and establish experimental as well as inclusive methods in youth work. Projects are intended to open new access points, network projects, and promote the self-organization of young people in processes of change.
Volunteer-led youth groups and initiatives, municipal youth councils, as well as recognized youth associations based in Lower Saxony can apply for 100% funding. A prerequisite is a new undertaking with gender mainstreaming, regional networking, and at least one person involved in the project organization holding a valid Youth Leader Card (Juleica). For funding amounts over €2,500, a legal entity must act as the applicant; for amounts over €5,000, coordinating and networking functions are required. Applications are submitted monthly by the 1st of each month and reviewed online; required documents include the online application, a project description, the financing plan, proof of the Juleica, and, if applicable, a confirmation from the responsible youth welfare office. In this way, the program promotes forward-looking concepts and strengthens the voluntary commitment of young people throughout Lower Saxony.
