Description
Companies in the agricultural and food industry in Baden-Württemberg can receive low-interest loans for investments in environmental and consumer protection as well as in selected future fields. The funding is specifically aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) according to the EU definition, which aim to increase energy efficiency, reduce emissions, or open up new markets such as regional food production, paludiculture, or autonomous land management. A financing volume of up to €10,000,000 per year with a 100% funding rate allows the implementation of extensive projects. Prerequisites include economic activity on site, the use of an energy-saving concept, as well as the establishment, expansion, or fundamental alteration of business premises in Baden-Württemberg. Applications are submitted easily through the house bank in an ongoing procedure.
Eligible for funding are investment costs for energy efficiency measures, emission reduction, processing and marketing of organically produced products, as well as measures to improve consumer protection. Offers such as “farm holidays,” investments in peat substitute products, and autonomous land management also count as eligible expenses. Activities related to primary production, the sole acquisition of company shares, operating material requirements, as well as investments in EEG- or KWKG-subsidized renewable energy systems are excluded; from 01.01.2025, standalone fossil fuel boilers will no longer be eligible for funding. For the application, among other documents, the program information sheet, the completed funding application, the information sheet on subsidy-relevant facts, as well as state aid and funding law annexes and General Terms and Conditions I and II are required. The L-Bank grants the loans in cooperation with the Agricultural Rentenbank.
