Funding objective
The funding "Protected Work in Workshops and Companies" aims to enable people with physical, mental, psychological, and/or multiple disabilities to perform gainful employment at protected workplaces in workshops or companies in the general labor market, to promote their professional and personal development, and to achieve qualification for permanent employment or transition into the primary labor market through placement in companies of the general labor market.

Funding requirements
- Recognition as a sponsoring organization in accordance with § 27 Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act 2008 as amended
- Conclusion of a performance contract in accordance with § 30 Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act 2008 as amended

Description
“Protected Work in Workshops and Enterprises” in Upper Austria provides people with physical, mental, psychological, or multiple disabilities access to sheltered employment positions. The goal is to not only impart professional skills through work offers adapted to individual abilities, accompanying personnel placement, and work-related support measures, but also to open up opportunities for personal development. Furthermore, individualized personnel development with measures such as application training and professional further education promotes the long-term transition to the primary labor market. In addition to direct services, the funding creates stable framework conditions through business management as well as organizational and planning support services and ensures the quality of the offerings through continuous team and service meetings, documentation, and training measures.
The target group comprises non-profit organizations and public institutions recognized in accordance with § 27 of the Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act and having concluded a service contract pursuant to § 30. The funding rate is 100% as a grant; applications can be submitted at any time from November 5, 2013. Among the requirements are proof of lawful permanent residence, a medical certificate of disability, as well as income and asset documentation. The unlimited submission possibility enables sponsoring organizations to provide tailored employment positions and ensure the sustainability of the transition into regular employment relationships.
