Description

The Working Group on Economics and Law supports ambitious doctoral candidates in commercial, corporate, economic, and labor law through targeted doctoral scholarships as well as grants for printing, material, and travel expenses. Initiated by university lecturers and corporate lawyers of the Stifterverband, the program promotes professional exchange between academia and practice. Twice a year, the funding committee offers the opportunity to present dissertations to an expert audience and to realize scientific publications. In doing so, the Working Group contributes to the innovative strength and quality of legal research in the Hamburg metropolitan region.

Over a period of up to 12 months, individuals can apply annually for a total amount of up to €16,800 as well as an additional research expense allowance of €1,200. Eligible expenses include travel costs, printing costs, and material resources. Application deadlines are fixed on January 5 and May 15 each year. A prerequisite is an ongoing doctoral project in the aforementioned legal fields. The funding information sheet (PDF) and the data collection form (Excel) must be used for the application submission.
