Description
The Art Foundation of the State of Saxony-Anhalt awards work grants of €1,500 per month for a duration of three or six months to enable freelance artists to focus on new projects. Funding is provided for individual achievements in the fields of Fine and Applied Arts, Artistic Photography, Performing Arts, Literature, Music, Film (screenplay and project development), Design, Architecture, Media Art, as well as interdisciplinary projects. The evaluation focuses on originality, quality, and feasibility. The funding is granted in full (100%) and exclusively supports living expenses, without concurrent funding from other institutions.
Eligible to apply are self-employed freelance artists with their main residence in Saxony-Anhalt and primary professional artistic activity; pupils, students, and trainees are excluded. The application requires a project description, work samples, CV, and proof of residence; a final report must be submitted upon completion. The deadline is June 8, 2026, at 11:59 PM, and the project start should be from January 1, 2027, onwards. A renewed application for extension up to a maximum of twelve months is possible after submission of the final report. The decision is made by the Foundation Board based on artistic evaluation. The goal is to realize outstanding individual projects and sustainably strengthen contemporary cultural life in Saxony-Anhalt.
