Description

The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) 2021-2027 represents a significant European grant aimed at supporting projects in the fields of asylum, migration, integration, as well as return and the fight against irregular migration. This funding call extends throughout Germany and targets legal entities under private and public law, as well as international organizations and cooperation partnerships. The call enables the funding of initiatives that strengthen the common European asylum system, support legal migration and sustainable integration, while simultaneously curbing irregular migration through targeted measures. With a project duration of up to 36 months and funding amounts starting at a minimum of €100,000, the fund offers financial assistance covering up to 80% of eligible costs, such as fees, personnel expenses, and material costs.

The funding objectives include the development of a robust European asylum system, the legitimization and optimization of legal migration processes, as well as the promotion of successful integration of non-European citizens. Furthermore, the fund aims to contribute to the effective combat of irregular migration and to strengthen European solidarity by redistributing responsibilities among member states. A prerequisite for funding is the provision of co-financing, with applications able to be submitted continuously throughout the entire funding period from 2021 to 2027. This allows interested institutions to respond flexibly to the constantly evolving challenges in the migration sector and to submit innovative project proposals.

As part of the application procedure, a detailed project proposal and a comprehensive financial plan must be submitted, among other documents. The evaluation of projects is based on criteria such as attractiveness, service orientation, speed, transparency, and effectiveness, ensuring a high quality standard. Thus, the funding is aimed at organizations and public institutions that plan and implement forward-looking projects to effectively address the challenges in the areas of asylum, migration, and integration. Through structured and participatory support provided by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, participants are ensured assistance throughout the entire project duration. This fund offers an excellent opportunity to advance innovative approaches and sustainable solutions within a socially relevant context.
