Description

For over 15 years, the Sparda Südwest Foundation has been supporting inclusive initiatives in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland through the grant program “Active Together – Inclusive Leisure.” The goal is to dismantle structural and mental barriers and to strengthen the empowerment of people with and without disabilities. The focus is on supporting volunteer projects in the fields of culture, art, music, sports, environmental and nature conservation, child and youth work, as well as housing. Through barrier-free events, awareness campaigns, and digital offerings, awareness of participation and equal opportunities is to be heightened. The initiative sees itself as a catalyst for public measures that actively involve people with disabilities from the outset and jointly create new, inclusive leisure opportunities.

Registered associations or non-profit organizations based or operating projects in Rhineland-Palatinate or Saarland may submit applications at any time. A prerequisite is a volunteer-organized structure and the consistent involvement of people with disabilities. Funding is provided for exhibitions, seminars, barrier-free publications, digital accessibility measures, as well as minor structural adaptations. Criteria such as degree of innovation, empowerment, barrier-free design, and addressing people with and without disabilities are considered in the selection process. Funds are allocated flexibly and continuously to ensure uncomplicated project implementation. Volunteer initiatives that promote participation and cohesion find a reliable partner in this program for inclusive leisure activities.
