Description
The Town & Country Foundation grants interest-free loans of up to €20,000 nationwide and provides comprehensive advice for owners of owner-occupied residential properties who have fallen into an involuntary hardship due to unforeseeable events – such as illness, accident, company insolvency, or natural disasters. Applications can be submitted at any time, as the homeowner assistance program is continuously open. The aim is to prevent imminent loss of housing and to ensure the continuation of completion or repair work as well as to cover due installment payments. The funding covers 100% of eligible expenses such as craftsmen’s costs, completion measures, and outstanding bank installments. Crucial are the proofs of involuntary hardship and economic need in accordance with § 53 No. 2 AO.
Various documents must be submitted for the application: a fully completed self-disclosure form with income and asset proofs, bank statements from the last six months, a current land register excerpt, as well as at least two cost estimates from craftsmen and insurance certificates. The review process is conducted according to the statutory guidelines and includes an individual assessment of the economic situation. A loan agreement is concluded following a positive decision by the Foundation’s board. Within the framework of the homeowner assistance, applicants are also supported by experienced advisors who assist with all steps – from document preparation to the selection of suitable craftsmen. In this way, the Town & Country Foundation permanently secures the preservation of housing for families in need.
