Description
The state of Tyrol supports agricultural enterprises in the federal state through a non-repayable grant for the acquisition of premium breeding animals. Funding is provided for cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs that are registered in a breeding register recognized under the Tyrolean Animal Breeding Act. Eligible applicants include natural persons, legal entities, and associations of persons with their registered office and operational location in Tyrol. Applications can be submitted directly during the auction or no later than 14 days thereafter. The disbursement of funds takes place semi-annually, while performance monitoring is conducted through the proper maintenance of the breeding register.
To receive funding, the animals must be purchased at a recognized marketing event in Tyrol – except for Pinzgau breeding cattle in Maishofen. Only the pure acquisition costs for the breeding animals are considered eligible expenses. This measure aims to sustainably improve breeding quality and strengthen the regional agricultural economy. The budget amounts to €0.35 million annually, provided indefinitely. Since the application period began in 2009, this aid has significantly contributed to securing the long-term competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in Tyrol.
