Description
Each year, the Berlin Project Fund for Cultural Education provides nearly €3 million in grants for artistic cooperative projects in Berlin. Eligible projects are those in which children, adolescents, and young adults up to 27 years old actively engage in artistic activities themselves and help shape the course of the project. Applicants may be private individuals, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, associations, or informal groups, provided that at least one partner from the arts and cultural sector and one partner from the education or youth sector are involved. The projects are characterized by young people working on topics that are meaningful to them across various genres – from music, theater, and film to visual arts and digital media. Creative participation is central, strengthening both individual expressive abilities and teamwork.
Cooperation models are sought in which the expertise of both partners is combined and young participants contribute their needs and interests to project development. Under Funding Pillar 1 (€5,001–23,000), the application deadline is October 2, 2025, while for larger budgets under Funding Pillar 2 (from €23,001), applications can be submitted until February 12, 2026. Additionally, the "Take Off 2026" call allows applications until January 8, 2026. This program creates creative spaces that enable young people to develop their artistic vision independently of platforms and to reflect on societal issues through artistic means.
